Personal Hobbies and Interests

Outside of work, Dr. Hamilton enjoys hiking, strength training, and exploring new restaurants. She shares her home with her husband, Matthew, their daughter, and their Golden Retriever, Philly.

Favorite Part of My Job

Dr. Hamilton enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine, with special interests in preventive care, surgery, emergency medicine, dermatology, and small mammal exotic medicine. She is passionate about building lasting relationships with pets and their families and helping patients live healthy, happy lives. Known for her patience and calm demeanor, she strives to make every visit as positive and stress-free as possible for both pets and their owners.

One of Dr. Hamilton's favorite things about working at Colmar Veterinary Hospital is the opportunity to work alongside her sister while being part of a collaborative team that is committed to providing exceptional patient care.

Education

Dr. Shannon Hamilton earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Delaware Valley University in 2018 before receiving her Veterinary Medical Doctorate (VMD) from the University of Pennsylvania in 2022.

Work History

Following graduation, Dr. Hamilton served in the United States Army as a Veterinary Corps Officer, supporting the military's animal medicine, public health, and food safety missions. After her military service, she returned to the practice that first sparked her passion for veterinary medicine before joining the team at Colmar Veterinary Hospital in 2025.
